The importance of exercise and physical activity for people diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD) has been well documented. Exercise produces many benefits including increased physical functioning (motor performance, strength, endurance), improved gait and balance, cardiovascular fitness, and overall better quality of life.  As such, great strides are being made to make exercise a part of the standard treatment of PD.
   Doug Pickard has been working with people with PD for over 15 years.  Besides working one on one with clients, he has offered PD specific PWR!Moves and Rock Steady Boxing classes at his studio in Parksville.  Doug is transitioning to a lighter work load, and soon he will no longer be operating his fitness studio in Parksville.  Doug will continue to work with clients one on one either online, in your home, or at the Body Sculptors gym in Qualicum Beach
