POUND AND PADDLE RACE (MONDAY NIGHTS)

Aqua/Terra. Land/Sea. We are combining these two elements in one great race!  Starting Monday, July 7th, join us for a SUP/Run race for fun, fitness and bragging rights.  Here's how it works: If you are a Standup Paddler and have a board, bring it with you and take part in the race as a "paddler". If you are a runner, lace up those trainers and head on down and join a team as a "runner". We will select teams randomly, so there aren't any "stacked" teams.!  Once the teams are selected, the race will begin.  On average, paddlers go about half the speed of runners (of course this varies with ability and experience), so the course has been designed so that the runners run twice as far as the paddlers travel during each loop. Runners and paddlers will leave at same time, on an "out and back" course.  Once back together at start, they will take part in a skills competition that must be completed before doing second (and final) loop.  The run loop will be 2.5km, the paddle loop about half that distance.  After the race we can socialize, swim, and possibly barbeque if there is enough interest (if this option is chosen there will a small fee attached to this event. For now it's free of charge.
